Whereas Social Return on Investment (SROI) is about accounting
for value, financial accounting is about accounting for financial
performance - where do these approaches overlap? How can
accountants help support accounting for value? Will the question of
accounting for value become more important in the future especially
for some organisations for example charities?
One aspect of the SROI Project is to engage with accountants in
order to get a sense of a role that accountants could have in
understanding and measuring social value. We will be running a
workshop for accountants and finance officers in order to explore
this, this workshop will cover the following subjects:
The sessions will be run by Jeremy Nicholls who is the Chief Executive of SROI UK and a chartered accountant.
Time and venue of the workshop:
26th of February 2010, 10am-12pm
at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, 141 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 7EQ.
